Stephen Childs is a Los Angeles based artist/photographer. Working primarily with standard Polaroid 600 film and camera, he photographs colorful objects around his apartment abstracting them and reducing them to simple color, shape, and texture. Simplicity is a key element to his work. He simplifies everything from the technical side of his photography to the final images. Beauty and aesthetics remain primary motivators in his approach to making art. Stephen makes various size Giclee prints of his Polaroids, but also arranges actual size Polaroids in a grid-like fashion on Plexiglas. Stephen has shown his artwork nationally as well as around the Los Angeles area.
